Who is this group for?
The ex-Muslim support group is an online group for any individuals who come from a Muslim background. It might mean they used to be a practising Muslim themselves, or they were born into a Muslim family but never really felt connected to the religion.
Who will be running this group?
The group will be facilitated by Aisha Khan. Aisha is a qualified and accredited therapist in the UK. She is an ex-Muslim and you can read more about her story here.
Why does the ex-Muslim support group exist?
For a lot of ex-Muslims, leaving Islam can lead to a loss of identity and community. It is common to be abused by family for leaving the religion and this may lead to a complete loss of contact from family members. Feeling isolated or like no one else understands can be common for ex-Muslims and my hope is that by creating this group, you can find others who can understand and relate to what you are going through.
Are you worried about your safety and who is in the group?
Each person will have had a consultation call with Aisha, to check they are suitable for the group. This group will take place on Zoom. There will be ground rules and if anyone breaks these, they will be removed from the group. If you have any further questions or concerns about the group, please contact Aisha here.
